Every student is given an option as to what area they want to focus on in their program. Below are the four streams where they can hone their skills even further.
MINISTRY
The Ministry stream will develop students to lead in all areas of life with a primary focus on church leadership and ministry. Students will be actively involved in the church ministry environment. Areas of focus may include pastoral care, young adults, kids, inner city, and events. Students will also take the core subjects of Leadership and Management and Biblical Studies.
MEDIA
The Media stream will provide students with the opportunity to develop skills in media production. Areas of focus will include camera operation, editing, script writing, lighting, sound and photography. Students will be actively involved in the church ministry environment. Students will also take the core subjects of Leadership and Management and Biblical Studies to give them a solid foundation for creating and communicating powerful messages.
CREATIVE
From ideas to reality, the Creative Stream gives students a firsthand look at what it takes to create the atmosphere around a church service or event. The Creative Stream is all about creating an amazing first impression through décor, ambiance and special elements. Students will gain first-hand experience when it comes to brainstorming, planning and execution of a project. Students will also take the core subjects of Leadership and Management and Biblical Studies.
WORSHIP
Is music your passion? Do you want to further your ability in musical theory, instrumentalism, worship leadership, songwriting, and a host of other skills? Then the music stream may be just for you. As a student of Springs Music, you’ll be exposed to the daily routines and responsibilities of an experienced music coordinator. Through tailored knowledge and practical application, you’ll learn exactly what goes into crafting meaningful worship. 2018 will also bring the introduction of our 48-Hour SongFest, challenging you to use everything you’ve learned to create relevant content within a short period of time. Students will also take the core subjects of Leadership and Management and Biblical Studies.
CORE COURSES
BIBLICAL STUDIES
Our Biblical Studies program is designed for students to increase in Bible knowledge to be better equipped for a life of success. Through Spirit Contemporary teaching these modules will enable students to delve deeper into biblical truths and lead them on a journey of increased knowledge and understanding to take their relationship with God to a higher level.
LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT
These modules introduce students to the personal management challenges and competencies that are critical for effective ministry leadership. Students learn how the personal development of life skills such as integrity, positive attitudes and behaviours, understanding others, critical thinking, communication, managing information, problem solving, self-discipline, goal setting, time management, stress management, etc. relate to their ability to be an effective ministry leader.
These modules also focus on facilitating the students’ awareness and understanding of their own abilities and provides the students with tremendous opportunity for growth through self-reflection, personal exploration, discussion and application.
